​What is a Baby Naming Ceremony?
A Naming Ceremony offers the chance to celebrate your new addition to the family. It is a wonderful chance for your family to celebrate the birth of your child or children, to officially name them and to share the dreams and aspirations for your child’s future.
It can also be a chance to welcome new step-children or an adopted child into the family, and for families and communities to come together to unite and bond.
The Naming Ceremony is a personalised ceremony, written from scratch through lots of contact with me. I will get to know you and write a bespoke ceremony to deliver on the day of your choosing, in any location.
What happens during the Ceremony?
A Naming Ceremony is a celebration of family and life. I will write a ceremony for you that is personalised and meaningful. It will include officially naming your child and declarations of promises and commitments from parents and other significant members of the family.
Parents will also state their hopes and wishes for the child’s future and will share the experience with family and friends who attend the ceremony.
You may also choose Guideparents to make commitments to support and guide the child as they grow. You may like to personalise the ceremony with readings and poems or include symbolic elements such as lighting candles or planting.
The family usually holds a celebration after the ceremony at the same location.
